ONE-TO-ONE ENDURANCE COACHING

Individual coaching for runners who want more than a training plan.

You already know that becoming a better runner takes more than following a generic schedule.

One-to-one coaching gives you individualised training, regular expert feedback and an ongoing coaching relationship built around your goals, your life and how you actually respond to training.

We work together to help you improve, understand your training and keep moving towards the runner you want to become.

Coaching works best when we're both part of the process.

IS THIS FOR YOU?

Good coaching is a two-way relationship.

I can analyse the training, plan the sessions and bring my experience to the process — but the quality of the coaching improves enormously when I understand how you're feeling, what you're experiencing and what's happening outside running too.

You don't need to know everything about training. You do need to be willing to communicate, learn and work together.

  • Have some running experience and something meaningful you want to work towards

  • Want training built specifically around you

  • Are willing to give regular and honest feedback

  • Want to understand why you're doing the training, not simply complete it

  • Value communication and an ongoing coach–athlete relationship

  • Want to develop over time rather than follow a one-off plan

You'll probably get a lot from coaching if you:

It may not be the right service if you:

  • Only want a static training plan to follow on your own

  • Are mainly looking for the lowest-cost option

  • Don't want regular interaction with a coach

  • Prefer to complete training without providing feedback

  • Want someone simply to prescribe workouts rather than help you learn and adapt

Everything we need to build, understand and adapt your training.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

The plan is only one part of the service.

One-to-one coaching combines individual training with ongoing communication, analysis and support, so we can keep making better decisions as your training develops.

01

Your training plan is built around your goals, experience, current fitness, available time and wider commitments.

It includes a long-term, adaptable training overview, with unlimited changes when training, recovery or life means the plan needs to move with you.

Individual training

02

I review your training, workout feedback and relevant data so we're not simply ticking sessions off a calendar.

You'll also receive a weekly training review looking at how the week has gone, what the data tells us and what we can learn from it.

Feedback & analysis

03

You have unlimited access to me through WhatsApp, phone, email and TrainingPeaks.

Regular feedback is central to the process. The more I understand about how you're responding physically and mentally, the more effectively I can coach you.

Communication & support

04

Your coaching also includes:

  • TrainingPeaks Premium

  • Ochy running form and gait analysis

  • TPPC athlete WhatsApp group

  • TPPC Strava Club

  • Discounts on TPPC training events

THE COACHING PROCESS

Training is planned — coaching is ongoing.

Your training plan gives us direction, but it isn't something I write once and leave you to follow.

Coaching is a continual process of planning, training, feedback, analysis and adjustment. What happens next depends on what we're learning from what has already happened.

Training is built around your current goals, availability, training phase and the wider demands in your life.

01 — Plan

You complete the training and record how it went, including the things that numbers alone can't tell us.

02 — Train

I look at your feedback and relevant training data, give you personalised feedback and review the wider picture each week.

03 — Review

We use what we've learned to make the next decision — whether that means progressing, maintaining, changing or occasionally backing off.

04 — Adapt

The plan serves the athlete — the athlete doesn't serve the plan.

From first conversation to your first week of training.

GETTING STARTED

Starting coaching should feel straightforward.

The first stage is about getting to know you properly — your running history, goals, previous injuries, current training and the realities of fitting running around the rest of your life.

01 — Talk

We'll spend around 30 minutes talking about your running, what you'd like to achieve and what you're looking for from a coach.

There's no obligation to sign up.

Book a free coaching call

02 — Tell me about you

If we decide to work together, I'll send you a detailed intake form covering your training and injury history, goals, personal bests, upcoming races, availability and wider commitments.

Complete your coaching intake

03 — Set everything up

I'll use your intake to begin shaping your training and get you set up with TrainingPeaks Premium, the TPPC athlete community and the supporting resources you'll need.

Build your coaching environment

04 — Start coaching

Once training starts, the process becomes ongoing. You train, communicate and give feedback; I review, respond and adapt the plan as we learn more.

ATHLETE EXPERIENCES

Results matter, but so does the experience of getting there.

The aim is to help athletes improve their performance while becoming more confident, knowledgeable and resilient runners.

“Tom has helped me grow as a runner more than I ever could have alone. Tom is not only knowledgeable and experienced when setting a great program and sessions, he also helped me navigate illnesses and injury setbacks to achieve my goals and PB across all distances.”

James Cawthorpe

“Communication has always been superb, I have learnt so much about how to be a better runner both mentally and physically, plus nutrition and running shoes.”

Steve Howliston

“Thank you so much for all your help getting me onto the start line and in a place where I was able to complete the 100 miles — not made easy between the ankle and knee issues this year. I am very grateful for your advice and support.”

Adrian Aronsson-Storrier

THE INVESTMENT

Coaching should continue because it's useful to you — not because you're locked into a contract.

There is no minimum sign-up period and no notice period. If at any point you decide coaching is no longer right for you, you can simply let me know by email or phone.

Your monthly coaching includes the complete service described above — individualised training, unlimited adaptations and communication, personalised feedback and analysis, weekly training reviews, TrainingPeaks Premium, Ochy analysis and access to the TPPC athlete community.

COACHING FAQ

Still unsure about something? These are some of the questions runners often have before starting one-to-one coaching.

Let's talk about your running.

READY TO START?

If you're looking for individual coaching, regular feedback and a training process that adapts around you, the next step is a simple conversation.

Tell me where you are now, what you're working towards and what you'd like from coaching. I'll tell you how I work, answer any questions and we can decide whether we're a good fit.
